don't read this to be inspired in a good way

In my real life I am working on things like being a better, more present mother and wife.  I am trying to spend more time in my bible and prayer.  I am trying to keep my home a little cleaner.  Spending time visiting with others in and out of my home, etc.  These things keep me from the computer, which is a good thing, but bad for my 12 blog followers.

so today let's talk about stupid, non-spiritual, non-beneficial things.  I will make one of my lists again.  this time it is about non-life affirming, lame, but curious things nonetheless. 

1.  i am absolutely fascinated by the current short, rolled up hem length styles.  Although it reminds me of the peg-leg your jeans days, i have decided to embrace it wholeheartedly.  bring on the baggy, rolled up look!  I see this as a chance to drag out your old mid-90s baggy jeans if you still have some in storage, I think they just might work. 

2.  I am in dismay by some recent photos of myself revealing three things: 1. a bit of jowliness in my chin/neck area, wrinkles around my mouth, and weird pigment changes on my face.  what the heck?  i am currently doing jaw thrusts and squeezing my butt cheeks as I type so that this is not wasted time.

3.  I struggle changing the channel when it lands on the show TMZ.  it is truly what is wrong with this world, but it is so hard not to watch late at night.

4.  I am wondering if anyone has a good suggestion on cute, cheap kids clothes for fall?  namely shoes.  my poor boy is going to be wearing Tevas that are too small into winter if i don't find something soon, and his school says that he needs to wear socks with his sandals, which I refuse to do, because that is just hideous looking.  So everyday that i send him to school without the socks, i feel guilty because I am breaking the rules, and I like to be a rule follower, and feeling guilty is not good, because that leads to self destructive behaviors like munching on the log of cookie dough in my freezer during nap time.  which actually may not be guilt related, it is just that i like to eat the cookie dough out of my freezer.  is that gross? perhaps i have revealed too much.

5.  I love the band Ra Ra Riot and this song.

6.  I am not certain if I showered yesterday or the day before....


I will post more as i think of them, but feel free to comment on the non-life affirming, lame stuff that is interesting you as well.  I'd like to know that other people have issues, too.
