I think it is a record. nothing stirs emotions like a conversation about Texas. love it. hate it. it gets something started.
i love the Lyle Lovett song that Leigh (in the comments) refers to. you can hear it here.
I would go so far as to say, "that's right you're not from Texas, but Texas wants you anyway...and once it gets a hold of you, it will absolutely not let go, so really think about moving here if you were thinking about it, because it is possible that you might not ever leave."
maybe mr. lovett should have put that in the song.
Oh but the Lone Star state has been good to us, and I cannot complain. Not one bit.
...except about the weather in the summer. and hurricanes. and mosquitoes. and cockroaches. and traffic. and what humidity does to your hair. i can complain about that. but nothing else.
Thanks for posting the link to the song, Erin. Gotta love Lyle, and that song (if you're from aroud here) is almost a religious experience.
ReplyDeleteAaahh, Lyle. The only redeeming thing at all about Julia Roberts, that she provided some good song material for Lyle. He's even better in concert! You might as well go a step further and add another great thing about Texas is the Texas music! Go Austin City Limits.
