My favorite oldest son

He learned last week to ride his bike.  He is four years and 3 months old.  I was 21 before I learned to ride mine.  All it took was the balance bike to begin with, a buddy that learned before him, and 30 minutes with a German lady.  I love it.  I'm so happy for him to be so normal.  Praise God he did not get all of my genes.

santa.  love him/ hate him, it matters not, Frank loves to "play" Santa Claus all year long.  It is a game that he and Isa made up.  We fake sleep and bring each other presents and lay them out while the other person is snoring.  i was cleaning today while frank was playing Santa.  He had his tube sock full of toys for himself and the tupperware container on the floor was Sock Monkey's "stocking."

He asked me what I wanted santa to bring me, and since I couldn't lay down to sleep at this particular moment, i asked him if he could ask santa to give me daddy back from arkansas, a new camera, and some new headphones for my ipod.  He kind of smirked at me and said,
"Mama - i think you are not right.  You can't ask santa to give you daddy back from Arkinsaw... you have to ask Jesus for that.  But he can get your camera and the ipody."

"Mama, what do you think is in heaven?  I think there is nothing in heaven.  Except God and Jesus....and MiMi."

The past week has been a difficult one for my buddy.  In an attempt to help guide him towards behaviors not resulting in discipline and tears, I broke out the grown up Bible the other morning to review the 10 commandments.  When we got to: "You shall not kill."  he said:
"so you can't kill anyone except old people?"...."I mean, old people - they do get killed."

there is never a dull moment.  not the morning, not the afternoon, not the evening.  Here is something I never thought I would type, but it feels so appropriate: TGIF.

  1. Such fun with you today. I remembered what the other thing was that our husbands have in common--the wondrous working pow'r of the doodle app. on their ipod. Hudson is an especial fan.

Balance bike+German lady+positive peer pressure=no training wheels at FOUR! That's magnificent.
