but then i decided to anyway, because i am that stupid.
i felt it was worth noting because my hair sucks right now. that's not Ramin's fault. it is my own fault for choosing to travel 3 1/2 hours to get my hair done and not having been since before Christmas. it is my own fault for not having a vision for a hairstyle, and for usually being to lazy to fix it up nice.
so basically last week, i decided to just let it go natural and curly and stop torturing it with the blowdryer until i can get in to the new local hairdresser. and i was pleasanly surprised by this good hair that resulted on my first attempt at giving up on doing my hair. that is until the next day when it went so terribly wrong.
and there is photographic evidence because, yes as i believe i have established, i am that stupid. i was at the park with my kids, who are precious. they were being hilarious and cute, and i pull out my phone to take a picture of them, and then i think, "dangit. my hair looks good. why didn't i put on makeup today? why does my hair look so good, and my face so gross? I don't know, but i better take a picture of this hair to remember it by." and then i took a picture of myself, or maybe 3, because this never happens. Then i quickly turned the phone around to take one of my cute kids ( and because there was a lady who walked somewhere behind me at the time and i am pretty sure she saw me taking my self-photo and was shaking her head and i was terribly embarrassed, as i should be ).
here is the hair:
now, maybe you are thinking, "really? i don't think it looks that great. and why is she making such a weird face?" maybe in hindsight it isn't that great, BUT it curled on its own and didn't look like the early 90's perm curl that I usually have when i let my hair go curly. so it seemed like a big deal to me. (and i don't really know what face you are supposed to make when you are trying to look at your hair, smiling seemed really weird)
here are those boys:

| this is a fairly typical scene. the big ones doing something to each other, and john trying to crawl and get stuck under something. |
Then, the next day came. i tried to re-create that hair the previous days' hair, and it turned into an absolute disaster. it got too sticky and frizzy, and clumpy and by the next morning it had morphed into this:

| ahh! |
Why am i posting the worst pictures of my ever? i don't know. because it is lent - and it is a time to be humble, and i think bad pictures are funny. usually i prefer them of other people, but i can't very well post bad pictures of you all on here.
or can I?
just kidding. i wouldn't.
or would I?
probably not...but maybe...

Well, it did seem to have a mind of its own the second day!I love ya no matter what!!Can't wait to see you and all of the boys.M
ReplyDeleteI love this. I think hair is best left to air dry. And I wish I had your curls!
ReplyDeleteYES. This is EXACTLY why I can't let my hair dry wavy. Because the second day is SHOCKING. And I can NOT wash my hair every day at this point. I mean, even in a ponytail it looks terrible.
ReplyDeleteI will say that first day hair does look terrific though. Just piece-y (sp?) enough on the ends. It's beachy and wonderful.
you are hilarious
