my first records that i ever owned were:
1. The Pointer Sisters - Break Out
2. George Harrison - Cloud Nine
and possibly the soundtrack to the Muppet Movie, but I am not sure if that was Kelly's or mine.
Just now, I purchased "Jump" and "I'm So Excited" from itunes, and it feels so right to own those songs again. I can still remember taking that Pointer Sisters album to show and tell in second grade. I was so proud of the neon pink letters on the cover.
But WAIT, they aren't neon pink at all! I just found this:
and this is not at all how I remembered it looking. My how the memory plays tricks on us.
Also, as i was thinking about my childhood, I just looked it up, and you CAN watch Xanadu instantly on Netflix. that will be happening soon - preferably when my husband isn't here. I don't need that smirking and sarcasm to ruin my nostalgia.
I might even put on my roller skates. Yes, i still have 'em. They are white with orange wheels. Come to think of it, i think those are my sister's as well.
thanks Kelly, for always sharing with me.

I remember you rolling around in those skates in your bedroom. While we were ALL trying to study for finals. And down the sidewalk - that was shortly after you got going down the street on the bike and got a little out of control.
ReplyDeleteYou're hilarious. I can't believe you had that album in the 2nd grade. I would never wear a shirt that showed that much of my underarm.
Ahhh...but what about your tap shoes?
